July 29 - NYC Day 3 Statue of Liberty

Today we went to downtown New York. We got on a boat and rode it to Liberty Island where we saw the Statue of Liberty. We got off and went in the museum. We got junior ranger badges. Then we got smoothies. Then we got back on the boat and rode it to Ellis Island. we stayed on the boat there. we rode it back to New York city. We got sketches of ourselves. Harm was the Statue of Liberty but she was holding an ice cream cone instead of a torch. Jay was Marilyn Monroe over a subway vent. Then we walked to the mega bus stop and started the long journey home.  I'm glad we had fun in New York but it made us appreciate D.C. where the crowds are smaller and the streets are cleaner.  Only Harmony would like to go back to NYC some day.

Today Dad took us to the National Portrait Gallery after he got home.  This was our second trip there.  We looked at painted portraits of the presidents.  I saw President Lincoln's portrait and decided to pose for photos with the presidents.  My favorite was President Teddy Roosevelt because of his monocle. July 25 - Nationals v. Rockies Baseball Game

Today we went to a baseball game. Dad bought me some peanuts. Dad bought a pretzel for Harmony. We watched the game and got hungry. So dad, Harmony, and I left to buy lunch. While we were gone mom saw some guys dressed up like presidents race the secret service. Then later we needed the bathroom and mom saw a base ball bat shatter across the field!  At the end of the inning people would throw a base ball. They also threw shirts. If you caught it you kept it. The Rockies won!

Today I woke up really early. Then I fell back to sleep. Then we both woke up. We hung out in the apartment and watched Little House On The Prairie. When dad came home from work we went to the art museum. We walked up the stairs to the second level. There was a lot of nakedness we tried to avoid. The landscape paintings were my favorite. Harmony's favorites were the stained glass windows and old lady paintings. We saw all sorts of portraits, stained glass, models, and sculptures. We were there for about an hour. We are planning on going to the art museum again for the other levels.

July 20 - Assateague National Park

Today we went to Assateague National Park. It was a very, very, very, long drive to get there. We also did a lot of shopping. not as much as we did on July 12, 2019. Harmony got a boogie board at one of the stores. The beach had huge waves. We went into deep water and jumped in the waves.  Harmony and I learned how to boogie board. Harmony is really good at it. This beach is unique because this beach has wild horses running around. When we were there we saw three horses. On the way to Residents inn and suites we saw five or six horses.

July 17, 2019 Splash Park

Today  was very fun. We went to a splash park. It had a curvy red bench. We slid and climbed on the long bench. A lot of the time the water was low but sometimes it would shoot up very high. I didn't know so I looked over a jet when it was low and it shot straight up super high in my face! we had a lot of fun. we ate some snacks while we walked to a different splash park. At that splash park there were fountains with a red light so it looks like the fountain water was red. There was also a shallow pool Harmony and I did not know it was shallow because the ground beneath the pool was black. dad told us it was a wading pool.  There was also a very cool waterfall at the splash park it flowed into the pool. We got on these white circles. They had Springs underneath so we bounced on them. then we crawled around in the water. It started raining very hard. It was fun! I hope we do it again sometime (without rain).

July 14, 2019 - International Spy Museum

Today we went to the International Spy Museum. It was really cool. We saw some cool spy gear like a pencil with a map and miniature compass inside. It was so complex that the same company couldn’t even remake it! There was also a shoe with a hidden camera in it, a lock pick kit, escape gear, and more! We all wore a lanyard with a little card on it that connected to interactive computers that where all over the museum. There was also a small ninja area with an air duct that had noise detector. Harmony and Mom left where fast and left early. There was also a cool room called the infinity room where there was a video and a bunch of mirrors. There was a code room upstairs with three different interactive codes. There are/where many different spies like Mata Hari, and George Washington. The last thing we did before we went to the apartment and went swimming in the pool was take a look around in the gift shop. I got a postcard and a recorder pen. Harmony got a pair of sunglasses with mirrors in them so she can see behind her.
